Who?

My name is Francesca Kletz and I am based in East London with my small family. I have been obsessed with designing anything from bedrooms to blanket boxes for as long as I can remember.

A lifelong love of textiles and talent for handcrafts led me to found London's first ever drop-in (award winning) weaving studio, The London Loom.  After running the studio for four years, writing a book about weaving and facilitating and inspiring thousands of students, I decided to close The London Loom to create my own design studio, Frances K.

Frances K specialises in interior design, textiles design and bespoke soft furnishings. A trained sewist and upholsterer, Francesca offers a complete textiles and colour driven interior design service. Please get in touch to discuss any upcoming projects.

Frances K blends sophisticated, functional design with the joy of humour, colour and play.

Specialising in eccentric outsider design, an eclectic fusion of retro and contemporary and a unique twist on style and comfort. Frances K will translate what a client wants and tease out the glee.

Founded on a love and knowledge of textiles, art history and colour, kitsch playful design, 90s cartoons, cult cinema and a sprinkle of nostalgia.

Frances K Studio is excited to hear about any exciting new design projects.

I am the author of Weave This (Hardie Grant 2017)  and is featured in The New Colourful Home (Hoxton Mini Press 2023).

She has created and run bespoke textiles workshops for Tate Modern (also taking over an entire floor of the blavatnik building in 2017), The V&A Museum, Southbank Centre, Royal Society of Sculptors and Fenton House.

Created features for Made and the front cover of Time Out London.

I have also appeared in The Times, Time Out London, Absolutely Magazine, Mollie Makes (also winning their 2019 best workshops award), Oh Comely, Let's Get Crafting magazine, Homemilk, Apartment Therapy and appeared on the cover of the March 2023 edition of Homestyle magazine.

Out of hundreds of applicants I made it to the top five in season five of BBC's Interior Design Masters.
